Thanks for your interest in Midwest Academy for Gifted Education.

Please join us at our next Live Admissions Information Session at 10 AM on May 5th, or June 2nd, 2024 to learn more about us, or join us on the same days virtually at 1 PM.

We are a nonprofit organization that specializes in JK-12th grade programming for highly and profoundly gifted children. All the information about our application process can be found by expanding the plus sign in one of the categories below. Please feel free to reach out to (312) 600-5571 or admissions@mage.education if you need any assistance. Please note that at this time we are unable to provide consulting to your individual family or institution on how to best teach gifted children, as we are not funded to do so and receive 100s of calls.

We have rolling admission when there is space.

Tuitions and Fees

We are a tuition funded start-up at this time. Our costs are just a straight pass through of faculty, facility and other expense costs to the families. Please click here for our Tuition and Schedule.

Step 2. Fill out online application

For the current year, winter term for all grade levels including High school starts in January. While we do have rolling admission, we also run out of space, so there isn’t always a seat available at your grade level. We are actively working to add space and staff to accommodate the volume of qualified applications that we are currently receiving but will only do so if we can do it well and safely. Shadow days are available for the winter and fall term admission for individuals that will take a COVID test, are qualified, and complete the parent interview.

Step 3. Confirmation of application

Receive confirmation of application received within 72 business hours.

Step 4. Parent/Caregiver interview

You will be contacted after we process your application. The parent interview will only take place after we receive and process your test scores and teacher recommendations. The interview must include all primary caregivers for the child. We have monthly admission interviews for families waiting for space.

Step 5. Shadow Day

If your child’s application moves to the last stage, assessment, we will invite your child for a shadow visit.

Step 6. Offers or waitlist notification

For the current school year, when space becomes available, admissions will be in touch with your family once you are admitted and waitlisted, to communicate timelines. The offers for admissions or notification of waitlist will be sent for the upcoming academic school year by end of March - prior to this date, we will make space to accommodate your child for next year if they are accepted. After this, we have rolling admission based on hired staffing. Physical space will not be an issue for us, but staffing will limit being able to accommodate additional seats.

Scholarship offers are announced in early February.

Step 7. Enrollment contracts

The enrollment information will be sent to you by admissions if you are offered a seat. First term tuition and all enrollment forms except the list below are due by end of March.

Additional documents are due by mid August:

  • Request a transcript from your child's previous school(s)

  • Health Examination Forms for the upcoming school year are due by August. You should request Health Forms or schedule appointments to get the following paperwork done on time, that must be from an exam no older than 1 year:

    • Dental health examination form from your dentist

    • State form for health examination from your dentist

    • Vision examination form from optometrist or ophthalmologist

Step 8. What happens next?

  1. Class list mailed out in June with optional contact info for social connections.

  2. Health examination forms for the upcoming school year are due by August.

  3. Submit a transcript from your child's previous school(s) and Health Forms

  4. Teacher Visits: During the last 2 weeks before start of school, new students have the option to have your teacher visit your student at home, for all grade levels, to ease the process of transitioning to a new school setting and for our teachers to have a chance to get to know your child. This is available to all students, including the part-time students, and is also possible for returning students if the parents choose this option.

  5. Back to school picnic (August), back to school open house (August) for enrolled students, and introductory/optional half days (August) are posted on enrolled student internal calendar.
