Free Open House Class: Wednesday October 2, 2019, 4:30-5:20PM

Ages: 6-14

Instructor: Kathleen Soler

Description: Students in this class will participate in STEAM exploration through reverse engineering man-made objects. In this class, we will learn with the hands to enact contemporary and ancient human practices, to discuss and understand the realities behind stories and myths, and participate in the history of human technology. There will be a chance to showcase class projects for parents in a 20-minute drop-in at the end of the 10-week session. Children will have exposure to starting fire, and using a knife. Please consider your child’s maturity level when entering them in the class. You will have to sign a waiver that you are okay with your child using those sorts of tools. Please note that leatherworking will be a part of the class, and there will be discussion of use of animal parts for food, glue, fiber, and clothing.

Price: 10 sessions: $200, Siblings 180, Drop-in $25 if the teacher approves, make-up: not available for this class as it is only offered once a week.
