4H

Pardon the construction dust: please be aware that a designated caregiver has to stay on site until we receive the city permit for drop offs. Once we receive city approval, we will notify you that you can now drop off your child.

Ages: 5-18

Leader: Kathleen Soler

Description: This is a 4H program. If you’ve never heard of 4H, or have, but it’s been a while, please read about what 4H is now. 4h is a little bit like scouts, only it’s co-ed, like all of our classes. 4H used to be centered around farming, and it’s no longer that. There are plenty of urban, stem, and arts opportunities within 4H, for example, aerospace, or theater! 4H meetings generally center around kids’ interests and the leader’s interests. Each child may choose to work on a 4H project alone or in a group, and then to show the project at the Cook County 4H fair. We ask for a $5 contribution per child per week toward supplies, our facility, instructional support, and insurance. If there is enough demand, we can separate the Cloverbuds groups from the older kids. We will need parents to sign up for various volunteer roles to support the club.

Price: 8 sessions this term: $40, Siblings 35, prorated admission if the leader allows.

Price Does Not Include:

  • 4H project supplies for the project that your child selects,

  • Parents signing up to volunteer to support club activities,

  • $20 per child 4H participation fee goes to Cook County 4H,

  • Travel to and from the Cook County 4H fair if you choose to participate.

Payment: We accept checks and prefer that form of payment. There is a $25 bounced check fee. If you choose to pay with a credit card, we will have to charge you a $5-$10 credit card processing fee.

Required Supplies: personal water bottle.
